Unwrapped Egg Roll

January 24, 2026

If you love the flavor of classic egg rolls but want something faster, healthier, and totally gluten‑free, this Unwrapped Egg Roll is about to become your new weeknight favorite. It’s a one‑pan, veggie‑packed meal made with ground turkey or pork, shredded cabbage, garlic, ginger, and a simple soy‑sesame sauce that tastes just like takeout—without the deep frying or extra carbs. It’s budget‑friendly, customizable, and perfect for meal prep, making it a go‑to option for busy nights when you still want something nourishing and satisfying.

Ingredients:

•             1 tsp avocado oil

•             2 tsp sesame oil

•             1 pound ground pork (can use ground turkey for a leaner meal)

•             1 tsp minced garlic

•             1 tsp shredded ginger

•             3 cups coleslaw mix

•             2 tablespoons Tamari soy sauce

Optional add‑ins:

•             Green onions

•             Red pepper flakes or sriracha

•             Extra cabbage for more volume

Instructions:

1. Brown the pork.

Heat the avocado oil + 1 tsp of the sesame oil in a large skillet over medium‑high heat.

Add ground pork and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks.

2. Add aromatics.

Stir in garlic and ginger.

Cook 1–2 minutes until fragrant.

3. Add the veggies.

Add the coleslaw mix.

Toss to combine and cook 3–5 minutes, until the cabbage softens but still has a little crunch.

4. Season.

Pour in soy sauce and stir well.

Drizzle the remaining 1 tsp sesame oil over the top for that classic egg‑roll flavor.

5. Serve.
